Rust Recoil Update Patch Notes.

Today’s Rust Recoil update is being dubbed as one of the biggest ever made to the PC version when it comes to PvP gunplay.

Developers Facepunch Studios has confirmed that since weapons were added nearly seven years ago, not much has changed since.

But today’s Rust recoil update has made some significant tweaks to the normal experience, and fans will want to check out the patch notes to know exactly what the new rules are.

The biggest gunplay update since Rust’s initial release, today’s Rust patch can be downloaded right now on Steam. Citing the thousands of hours some players have built up over the years, Facepunch says that the new system will make PvP a completely different experience, especially for those using scripts and exploits.

According to the Rust team, the new Rust recoil update has changed the system from pattern-based to gradient-based. This means that automatic weapons will become harder to handle the longer you fire them. Facepunch has also revealed that long shots will likely be more inaccurate and less effective when it comes to damage output.

The Graffiti Pack is also available now from the General Store on Steam and from the General tab in the in-game store! Get Spraying!https://t.co/TyqBeglbPO pic.twitter.com/Jk5Nkqkp6L

Other changes include the return of Hapis Island following issues with a former version of the game. The team confirms that the desert in the south has been expanded and that more secondary islands have been added to the map.

Full patch notes for today’s Rust recoil update can be found below:

Rust Recoil Instead of pattern-based recoil, we now implement a gradient-based aim drift and inaccuracy for automatic weapons. That is to say, the longer you hold down the trigger, the more inaccurate the weapon becomes. It still takes skill to try and keep it centered on the target, but it is not the same with each burst. We’ve also updated aimcone (inaccuracy of bullets relative to where you are aiming )to use a weighted system, so that roughly 20% of the shots will land in the centre. This means that automatic fire at a long-range effectively decreases DPS. This encourages players to use the right weapons in the right situations and to improve their tactics and burst discipline. There should be less 200m beaming going on. What this has done is compressed the skill ceiling, and we think this is a good thing.

We’re finally releasing the updated Rust Steam Point store today, Lewis and Paddy have been working hard on improving the quality and quantity of the store assets.
